Position: FT Security Guard
Reports To: Program Director

What the FT Security Guard does:
- Welcome onsite visitors, determine nature of business, and announce visitors to appropriate personnel.
- Greet visitors and members in a professional and friendly manner.
- Monitor visitor access and sign in and out all participants, staff, and visitors during program open hours.
- Verify identification for program participants and guests as required by center policies.
- Maintain a presence at the front desk or designated post to address visitor inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain the professional appearance of the receptionist’s area.
- Assist with shelter‑in‑place, lockdown, and fire drill procedures, following center protocols.
- Answer visitor questions and distribute application forms.
- Assist with screening potential participants.
- Monitor entry and exit points, ensuring only authorized personnel and participants gain access.
- Monitor security cameras and respond to any suspicious activity to deter unauthorized activity.
- Patrol the facility and grounds to ensure the safety of all persons.
- Maintain accurate logs of incidents, visitor check‑ins, and other relevant activities.
- Enforce community center rules and regulations, ensuring compliance by visitors.
- Respond promptly to security‑related incidents, emergencies, or disruptions, and de‑escalate situations calmly and effectively.
- Maintain a daily log of all activities and incidents.
- Tasks may be modified, expanded, and/or assigned over time.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education /Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Security Guard License issued by NYS.
Other Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
Compensation
: $17.00 hourly
When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.
Status: Full-time (35 hours per week);
Monday‑Friday 2PM‑10PM
