AboutThe Role
A successful Senior Director in the Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Communications team will lead crisis communication response strategies for companies facing active cybersecurity attacks or threats. The role involves managing crisis communication preparedness projects, tabletop exercises, and specialized offerings within the practice.
The Senior Director will oversee multi‑stakeholder communications for clients experiencing cybersecurity incidents such as ransomware attacks, nation‑state attacks, critical infrastructure incidents and other operational disruptions. The Senior Director is the primary client counselor and must be comfortable interacting with C‑suite, external counsel, and third‑party partners on incident response teams. The position requires excellent project management skills and the ability to oversee multiple work streams for large‑scale cyber incident engagements across multiple geographies.
The Senior Director will identify new business opportunities, develop relationships with law firms and referral sources, and participate in marketing and thought‑leadership initiatives on behalf of the team and firm.

On an annual basis, the team provides communications counsel and support for hundreds of organizations across critical infrastructure, energy, healthcare, financial services, technology, retail, higher education, municipalities and more. The team’s clients span publicly traded, privately held, B2B, B2C, domestic and multi‑national companies.
With a multidisciplinary approach, the team advises clients through effective communications and messaging for customers, partners, vendors, regulators, employees, boards, media, investors and more. The team works throughout the entire lifecycle of a cyber incident, helping companies mitigate risks and preserve reputation before, during and after the incident.
What You’ll DoThe Senior Director manages account teams and projects, leveraging in‑depth knowledge of clients’ objectives and challenges to oversee the design and implementation of innovative strategies to assist them through cyber and data privacy communications challenges. The role contributes to growing the Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Communications business and provides oversight to teams working on incident response and preparedness matters.
- Develop strategic proposals and communications plans for clients and new business prospects.
- Serve as a primary client contact, providing strategic counsel directly to clients in meetings, conference calls and on client sites.
- Project‑manage multiple work streams, client/legal approval processes and document development to ensure deadlines are met and objectives are achieved.
- Manage teams and processes for tracking and triaging client stakeholder inquiries (e.g., media, employees, customers, regulators) during live incidents.
- Collaborate with peers across borders on incidents requiring 24‑x‑7 follow‑the‑sun crisis management.
- Anticipate client needs and concerns and proactively address them.
- Work with senior leaders to make staffing decisions on various accounts.
- Drive new business pursuits, including developing thought leadership, identifying business prospects and networking on behalf of the firm.
