FLSD​/Security Officer; Hotel - PM​/Overnight; Temporary

Job Description Summary

The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of all guests, employees, and visitors of the hotel. They protect hotel assets, enforce security policies, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The officer performs fire prevention, safety, investigation, and resolves safety and security complaints.

• Deliver Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients.
• Perform normal hotel security functions, including fire prevention and safety checks.
• Investigate thefts, accidents, and other incidents on the property.
• Prevent losses of company and guest property by detecting and deterring theft, burglary, and other criminal activity.
• Ensure a safe and tranquil environment for guests and employees.
• Assist guests and colleagues with all security and safety related enquiries.
• Resolve guest and employee complaints regarding safety and security matters.
• Conduct floor patrols during tour of duty, checking doors, windows, and securing facilities during non‑operating hours.
• Monitor personnel activities to detect and counter thefts and other criminal activities.
• Complete associated forms and reports for any accidents or incidents.
• Immediately report hotel deficiencies to appropriate departments for repair.
• Perform other work‑related duties as assigned by Management.

• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Ability to adhere to the property’s grooming standards.
• Ability to stand, walk, and run continuously as required.
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in all hours and weather conditions.
• Ability to understand and execute all safety and emergency procedures (e.g., fire, crowd control, inclement weather, bomb threats).
• Ability to operate emergency equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, wheelchairs, respirators).
• Ability to lift, carry, and store items up to 50 lbs in overhead areas.
• Ability to lift and move an immobilized adult in an emergency.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, and reach.
• Ability to push or pull approximately 75 lbs.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
• Ability to utilize communication equipment (e.g., telephones, radios, beepers).
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and employees.
• Ability to interact with guests and employees in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner.
• Ability to read and write effectively.
• Ability to sustain direct contact with the public and maintain high customer service standards.
• Will be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Hourly compensation ranges from $31.05 to $41.40, as outlined by contract requirements.
