Position: Community Technician - Vanderbilt - Sunday-Thursday 3pm-11:30pm

Community Technician

Full‑Time | 37.5 hours/week | 24/7 Program | Mandatory Overtime

Make a Difference Every Shift

At BRC, every shift matters. As a Community Technician, you are a consistent, trusted presence for individuals experiencing homelessness—often supporting people in moments of crisis, uncertainty, or transition.

What You’ll Do
  • Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
  • Engage residents using trauma‑informed and de‑escalation techniques.
  • Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
  • Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
  • Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
  • Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
  • Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
  • Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
What You’ll Gain

Who We’re Looking For
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Willingness to obtain required certifications.
Preferred
  • Experience with homelessness, mental health, or substance use populations.
  • Security Guard license, Food Handler Certificate, or similar certifications.
  • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
Schedule
  • Full‑time, 37.5 hours/week.
  • Morning, evening, and overnight shifts available.
  • Mandatory overtime required.
