Community Technician
Full‑Time | 37.5 hours/week | 24/7 Program | Mandatory Overtime
Make a Difference Every ShiftAt BRC, every shift matters. As a Community Technician, you are a consistent, trusted presence for individuals experiencing homelessness—often supporting people in moments of crisis, uncertainty, or transition.
What You’ll Do- Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
- Engage residents using trauma‑informed and de‑escalation techniques.
- Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
- Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
- Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided).
- Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
- Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
- Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
- Experience in trauma‑informed care, harm reduction, and crisis intervention.
- BRC‑sponsored certifications (CPR/First Aid, Narcan, Fire Safety Guard, etc.).
- Clear pathways to case management, senior roles, and leadership.
- Structured training, onboarding, and team support.
- Tuition assistance and professional development.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
- Willingness to obtain required certifications.
- Experience with homelessness, mental health, or substance use populations.
- Security Guard license, Food Handler Certificate, or similar certifications.
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
- Full‑time, 37.5 hours/week.
- Morning, evening, and overnight shifts available.
- Mandatory overtime required.
