• Assists the Medical Center Administration in its protection program and provides a safe and secure environment conducive to quality patient care.
• Enforces all established Medical Center and Safety and Security Department policies and procedures related to the protection program concerned with physical and procedural security designed to safeguard personnel, prevent unauthorized access to equipment, facilities, materials and documents and safeguard them against theft and damage.

The compensation range for the role is $20.00 -$25.00 hourly.

• Minimum Education:
  
  High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of the New York State Eight Hour Pre-assignment Training Course prior to hire highly preferred, with completion required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Successful completion of the New York State Sixteen Hour On-The-Job Training (OTJ) Course prior to hire highly preferred, with completion required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Experience in security field and/or law enforcement preferred.
• Valid driver’s license without violations meeting insurance carrier criteria.
• Must be registered with the NYS Security Guard Registry within 90 days of hire or transfer and maintain registration throughout duration of employment. This includes completion of an NYS approved 8-hour Annual In-Service training course once per calendar year.
• Must be certified in BLS prior to the end of orientation.
• Must attend hospital crisis training program within 3 months of hire or transfer and annually thereafter.
• Light to heavy duty physical requirements; must be able to endure standing, walking, running and possible physical confrontation.
• Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility; may work outside of facility and be exposed to bodily fluids of deceased patients and/or infectious matter. Follow all Medical Center and Infection Control policies and procedures.

• Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks, visual and aural acuity, finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment.
• Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking, meet lifting requirements up to 150 lbs occasionally, and possess capacity to lift from floor to standing position up to 35 lbs, front or side carrying up to 25 lbs.
• Walk up to 5 miles during shift; respond to emergencies using stairwells.
• Ability to sit up to six hours during stationary post, stand up to six hours during stationary post.

• Ability to foster collaborative relationships and work well under pressure.
• Organize and synthesize new information, prioritize tasks; possess critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility.
• Multitask, pay detailed attention in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to customer needs and expectations; may be subject to irregular hours including evenings or weekends.

Per Diem, Part Time, and Full Time positions available for day & evening shifts.
