Job Summary

Starting Hourly Rate / Salario por Hora Inicial: $22.00 USD per hour.

The Assets Protection (AP) team protects guests, team members and brand security, mitigates theft and fraud, and supports crisis events. As a Target Security Specialist you will use intelligence-led tactics, crisis response, and Target’s video surveillance system to keep the store safe.

• Provide a friendly, welcoming environment by greeting guests and assisting them with their needs.
• Actively support team efforts and maintain a positive attitude.
• Promote a security culture and enforce safe and secure standards throughout the store and exterior property.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, using de‑escalation tactics and documenting each event accurately in the case management system.
• Assist in merchandise theft recoveries and support apprehension when required, following AP policies.
• Perform merchandise receipt checks to prevent theft and shortage, reporting trends as needed.
• Use Target’s video surveillance system effectively to monitor store activity.
• Maintain safe work practices, comply with all safety policies, and report hazards.
• Complete additional duties as directed by store leadership.

• Minimum 18 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate on multi‑frequency devices and operate technology such as handheld scanners.
• Strong interpersonal skills; welcoming and helpful to guests and teammates.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, lift up to 40 pounds, and remain mobile during shifts.
• Compliance with all state or local licensing and legal requirements for the position.
• Capability to remain calm and composed while performing emergency and security duties.
