Job Summary

The selected candidate will manage the Office of Security's analytical reporting, handling highly confidential and sensitive police and security data, information, and intelligence from all MTA Police and security units. This data will be methodically compiled and analyzed to detect key issues, promoting a proactive, risk-based approach to MTA Police and security activities. The role includes managing recordkeeping, analysis, reporting, and data-driven action plans pertaining to global, regional, and local security, law enforcement, terrorism, and crime data.

Additionally, they will manage HQ Security's intelligence program, inclusive of social media monitoring, threat analysis, global intelligence, and criminal justice and social institutional changes while staying well-informed of current penal laws.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the MTA Headquarters team responsible for monitoring, analyzing, synthesizing, and reporting on highly confidential and sensitive open-source and classified police, intelligence, and security information sources to inform the overall MTA security strategy.
  • Manage internal systems, tools, and processes to record and track MTA security incident data. The data is analyzed to identify trends and patterns, and the team collaborates with agency security staff to ensure data integrity and improve data collection and presentation. Collaborate with the MTA agencies, MTA Police Department, New York Police Department, Federal and local law enforcement agencies’ data teams, to gather, present, and share security data for purposes of crime prevention and counter terrorism.
  • Regularly develop and produce crime and data analysis (on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis) for police and security personnel to support the effective deployment of resources. This includes identifying hourly trends to optimize the allocation of effective daily deployment of MTA and external partners; maintaining and managing comprehensive datasets across multiple critical domains and acting as the primary authoritative “Source of Truth” for external data disclosures to state agencies and the media.

    Including (1) synthesizing information from multiple sources into consolidated, ranked indexes that identify key issues or hotspots, (2) conducting daily monitoring of various social media platforms to detect and assess potential threats to transportation, and (3) searching for and tracking case information on criminal cases perpetrated against the MTA and its employees.
  • Oversee and apply analytical methods alongside intelligence collection procedures to produce pertinent reports. Acquire essential information from federal, state, and local law enforcement sources, as well as counter terrorism and security data databases, in order to identify issues, trends, and patterns.
  • Will serve as the Lead manager tasked with coordinating data and intelligence to ensure leadership remains informed about the operational landscape and juxtaposition of indicators of both domains.
