Job SummaryWe are seeking vigilant and dedicated Armed Security Guards to join our team at the Syracuse Headquarters. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our facilities, employees, and visitors through proactive surveillance and incident prevention. Key responsibilities include monitoring assigned areas to identify and report suspicious or unusual activity, deterring unauthorized behavior such as vandalism and theft, and responding swiftly and appropriately to potential security threats or emergencies in alignment with established protocols.
Ideal candidates will be well‑versed in security procedures, possess strong observational skills, and maintain a calm, authoritative presence. We are looking for individuals who take pride in fostering a safe and secure environment and who contribute to a productive, problem‑free workplace.
$26.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience
Hours- Overnight Hours, Full‑Time and Part‑Time Availability
- Weekends Required
- Ensure the facility is provided with high‑quality services to protect people and property
- Maintain a security presence by patrolling both inside and outside of the facility
- Monitoring security cameras
- Detect and report safety concerns and potential risks
- Respond within minutes to reports of suspicious activity
- Respond promptly to emergency calls for assistance
- High School Degree
- Ability to proactively identify problems, creatively develop and execute solutions
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to interact with others in a friendly, professional manner
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Required Licenses &
Certifications:- Successfully clear drug screen and background check to meet industry and security licensing requirements
- Must possess an active NYS Security Guard License and complete the 8‑Hour pre‑assignment Training
- Must possess the ability to receive a valid New York State pistol permit
- Training &
Skills:- 47‑Hour Armed Guard Training (armed positions only)
- Moderate lifting 15–30 pounds regularly
- Occasional heavy lifting of >50 pounds
- Be physically active, able to frequently sit, stand, or walk for observing patrols, for long periods, and comfortable climbing stairs and walking up inclines and uneven terrain
- Conduct frequent and random on‑foot patrols of the building and campus perimeter
- Effectively demonstrates the ability to use proper techniques in controlling disorderly or combative visitors, personnel, or trespassers when necessary
- Working in extreme conditions, heat/sun, cold, wet, and temperature changes while fulfilling patrol duties
