- Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”):
Hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six‑month commitment. - Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program:
In addition to your fixed shift, pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, increasing earnings and gaining experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next—your choice.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, common areas, and perimeter locations to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials when required, and report policy violations, maintenance concerns, and/or suspicious behavior according to site protocols.
- Support daily operations by preparing reports, maintaining logs, assisting with crowd and line management, and providing clear directions and information to the public and/or site personnel.
- A New York State Security Guard License is required.
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
