Win is seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Guards to help ensure the safety and well‑being of families, staff, visitors, volunteers, and property across our shelter programs. As a Security Guard, you will play a critical role in maintaining a secure environment by monitoring facility activity, enforcing safety procedures, responding to incidents, and supporting emergency preparedness efforts.
WHAT YOU WILL DO- Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, staff, visitors, and volunteers.
- Conduct routine patrols of the building, grounds, and client units.
- Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious or unusual activities.
- Maintain accurate security documentation, including visitor, resident, and attendance logs.
- Participate in fire drills and serve as a member of the facility fire brigade.
- Conduct monthly fire safety inspections and fire extinguisher checks.
- Assist with emergency response activities and building evacuations.
- Enforce facility safety and security procedures in accordance with agency policies.
- Respond to incidents and crises using approved non-physical intervention techniques.
- Prepare verbal and written incident reports and document actions taken.
- Identify and report concerns related to substance use, child welfare, criminal activity, or facility safety.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid New York State Security Guard License required.
- 2–3 years of security experience, preferably in social services, residential, shelter, healthcare, or similar environments.
- Strong observation, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
