Overview:

The Senior Security Manager will work closely with the Senior Vice President of Security and the Director of Security to ensure the safety of employees, tenants and visitors throughout the organization. They will identify security initiatives and work to constantly update security protocols and maintain policies & procedures. The Senior Security Manager will oversee Security Managers, as well as Security Officers and will physically patrol One World Trade Center, ensuring the safety of the building, tenants, staff and visitors.

Additionally, the Senior Security Manager will support the management of company responses to emergencies including natural and manmade disasters.

Shift:

  • 11 pm – 7 am, Regular Days Off:
    Sunday and Monday

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Vice President of Security and the Director of Security in setting goals and planning for the future of the department, OWTC and organization initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, direction, guidance and training to direct reports (Security Managers and Security Officers).
  • Train and communicate physical and technical security strategies to Security Managers and other Security Department personnel.
  • Provide regular feedback to direct reports and conduct regular reviews in accordance with Company policy, fostering a team focused on growth, improvement, efficiency, professionalism and respect.
  • Routinely physically patrol security posts to oversee the safety and security of One World Trade Center, as well as the performance & evaluations of posted Security Officers ensuring all Company protocols are being followed.
  • Collaborate with senior management to maintain best practices with respect to security policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, improvement, and management of physical security practices and programs.
  • Ensure the appropriate staffing and schedules for areas under their supervision.
  • Respond expeditiously to escalations of security breaches and other incidents made by building tenants or employees.
  • Document both short‑term plans and long‑term strategy that align with the Company’s goals and values.
  • Liaise with government agencies and area law enforcement bodies to ensure the safety of Durst properties, employees, clients and visitors.
  • Manage additional responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have the ability to articulate area security issues, documenting both short‑term plans and long‑term strategy. They will have a demonstrated understanding of physical security strategies, policies, principles, procedures, and standards. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the ability to think critically through the intricacies of complex situations. Finally, the incumbent will demonstrate technical knowledge and experience in defining access control policies and governance, asset protection best practices, business continuity and emergency, non‑emergency and disaster recovery planning.

  • Must have proven management skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, or a related field or equivalent experience.
