Security Officer - Transitional Patrol

Position: Security Officer Transitional Housing Patrol – Brooklyn, NY

As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, support access awareness, assist residents and visitors with professionalism, and communicate clearly as part of a caring, reliable team.

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

• Tue: 04:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Fri: 04:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Sat: 04:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Sun: 04:00 PM – 12:00 AM

• Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter, noting unusual activity, unsecured areas, and maintenance-related issues that could impact daily operations.
• Monitor access to the location by observing entry and exit activity, verifying credentials when required, and helping to deter unauthorized access through visible presence and professional communication.

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
