The starting pay range for this position per hour is $26.50 - $28.50. The full pay range for this position per hour is $26.50 - $45.05. Pay is based on several factors, which vary based on position—labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

Assets Protection SpecialistAssets Protection (AP) teams keep guests, team members, and the brand secure and lead through crisis events. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing theft and fraud, and ensuring product availability for guests. They also build relationships with store leaders and public safety officials.
Responsibilities- Use surveillance and intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure.
- Monitor guests via Target's video surveillance system to identify theft risks.
- Implement AP practices and routines to reduce and prevent shortage.
- Document cases accurately and efficiently.
- Identify theft trends, report, and investigate external theft and fraud.
- Respond to security incidents and submit documentation per AP policy.
- Promote a physical security and safety culture and provide training.
- Maintain positive relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement.
- Participate in legal proceedings to represent Target’s interests.
- Other duties as needed.
- At least 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and on multiple frequency devices.
- Ability to operate handheld scanners and technology equipment.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks.
- Remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment.
- Capability to remain mobile for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to climb ladders, apprehend subjects, scan, handle, and move merchandise safely.
- Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
