Security Specialist

• Greet guests, help them find what they need, and resolve issues
• Support team efforts and assist peers in other areas
• Promote physical security culture and maintain safe and secure standards throughout the store and exterior property
• Respond to and accurately document security incidents in a timely manner
• Respond to guest issues to provide a safe and secure environment
• Use de-escalation tactics and resources during security incidents
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support in accordance with AP policies
• Perform merchandise receipt checks to prevent theft and shortage and communicate trends
• Submit incident documentation in the case management system
• Use Target's video surveillance system
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
• Follow safety policies, best practices, and training; report and correct hazards where possible
• Perform other duties based on business needs

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and with a team
• Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames
• Ability to climb up and down ladders
• Ability to apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy
• Ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds without additional assistance
• Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work in and be exposed to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift

Demonstrates strong guest service skills by creating a welcoming environment and effectively resolving issues. Proficient in security protocols, incident documentation, and theft prevention strategies while maintaining compliance and safety standards.
