The Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) is responsible for providing leadership, operational support and oversight of the United Nations security management system (UNSMS) globally. As a global leader in security risk management principles, UNDSS enables the safe and effective delivery of United Nations programmes and activities in the most complex and challenging environments, while maximizing precious resources. The Senior Programme Management Assistant reports directly to the Senior Security Project Manager, Global Security Systems, Standards and Projects Team (GSSSP) and is under the general supervision of the Director, DHSSS. The Security and Safety Services (SSS) are operated independently in New York and at seven other Secretariat headquarters locations around the world, with DHSSS providing coordination among the various Services.
The Senior Programme Management Assistant will be responsible for the administrative support of the GSSSP team in DHSSS and all associated projects and locations.
