Maintenance Worker – TAO Downtown Restaurant, New York

Position Summary
Responsible for performing routine to complex maintenance and repair work on all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems throughout the property.

• Perform routine to complex maintenance and repair work on mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
• Recognize equipment that needs repairs, adjustments, or replacement.
• Apply paint using roller, hand brush, or spray gun on furniture, fixtures, walls, ceilings, etc.
• Install and repair wallpaper throughout the property.
• Patch and prepare all surfaces for paint or wallpaper, including sheetrock patches, and refinishes all types of furniture.
• Perform basic carpentry techniques necessary to maintain furniture and fixtures (tightening, gluing, touch‑ups, adjusting, aligning, assembling).
• Diagnose defective machines and equipment; install new or repaired parts following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Maintain equipment and logbooks.
• Replace filters throughout properties as needed.
• Move and reset furniture around for repairs.
• Perform basic flooring repairs (tiles, carpets, ceramic flooring, etc.).
• Daily travel to various locations for installations, repairs, and maintenance.
• Assist and/or complete additional tasks as assigned.

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably in hospitality.
• Minimum age 21.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as skyjack, forklift, scissor lift.
• Good working knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Working knowledge of repair and preventative maintenance of facilities equipment, kitchen equipment, gas, steam, electrical and plumbing.

• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working in environments with varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive energy throughout the day.
• Read computer monitors and print legibly.
• Can sit and/or stand for extended periods.
• Can move quickly through work and set pace in office.
• Can push and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Environment: small to medium office, casino, nightclub, bar, lounge, restaurant.
• May work extended hours, irregular shifts, evenings/weekends, holidays.
• Maintain professional, neat, well‑groomed appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Handle fast‑paced, busy, somewhat stressful environment.
• Effectively collaborate as part of a team; interact professionally with internal and external customers, managers, co‑workers.
