Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties)
  • Conduct repairs, preventative and routine maintenance, overhauls, and other services on a variety of large and small vehicles or equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation and oversee the same for junior mechanics.
  • Using personal knowledge, expertise, and skill, diagnose the cause of equipment malfunction, prescribe remedial action, and source appropriate materials for submission for cost approval while prioritizing safety, quality, speed, and cost.
  • Perform skilled work in the repair and adjustment of equipment, to include but not limited to diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic pumps and lines, transmissions, brakes, electrical and lighting systems, cooling systems, steering systems, drilling or pounding equipment systems, and exhausts of all types.
  • Perform preventative maintenance work performed on equipment and machinery by visual inspection, road tests or by using testing devices.
  • Maintain all proper records and reports of work performed, parts used, type and quantity of fluid, for liability, compliance, and warranty reporting and record keeping.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections, perform preventative maintenance, and operate all vehicles and equipment within safe limits as set by manufacturers recommendation or local law to minimize the risk of injury or property damage.
  • Attend all pre‑shift safety and production meetings according to schedule, participate in daily team stretching exercise, and support end of day site clean‑up.
  • Demonstrate positive team behavior that contributes to efficiency, productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Complete all required or directed training, certification, licensing, and other learning and development as assigned.
  • Abide by all Federal, State, and local laws; uphold and maintain accountability to all Company policy.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Operate off‑road vehicles and heavy equipment as needed.
  • Drive trucks, maintaining a valid driver's license.
Qualifications

Experience:
  • 2 years on hydraulic equipment maintenance or diesel engine maintenance.

  • Adaptability, communication, teamwork, and time management.
Licenses/Certifications
  • OSHA 10 and valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements

Work is primarily outdoors, requiring standing, bending, and lifting up to 60 lbs. Exposure to loud noises and extreme temperatures is common. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory, and verbal communication in English is required.

Work Conditions

This position involves periodic travel to solar field sites, primarily outdoors in varying weather. Work weeks typically consist of 5.5 days, with hours ranging from 8 to 10 per day. Candidates may be required to respond to emergency situations.
