Skilled Maintenance Worker Full Time. Nights. Job Summary

Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville, NY is seeking a skilled Maintenance professional to join our hardworking team. As a key member of our Maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance of our internal physical plant, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, as well as boiler maintenance, light construction and equipment repair. • Perform general maintenance of the Physical Plant for our medical campus (Hospital, Nursing Home, Primary Care)
• Utilize knowledge of steam, electrical, and plumbing systems on a daily basis to maintain proper functions of our medical campus
• Operate and maintain boilers and heating systems
• Perform electrical work/circuit troubleshooting and electrical safety checks of hospital equipment
• Perform plumbing troubleshooting, opening pipes and drains, snaking drains as needed
• Maintain and test generators and emergency equipment
• Perform general facility upkeep including painting, light construction, carpentry, small engine repair, shoveling, mowing, and cleaning
• Assist in emergency situations, ensuring uninterrupted patient care and access to all associates, patients, and visitors
• Assist outside vendors/contractors as needed in handling materials for repair or installations

• One (1) year of experience in facility maintenance or related setting performing a skilled trade(s) including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and hot water systems
• Successful candidate will have a proven record working within a structured work schedule with strong attendance
• Requires a high degree of motivation; self-direction with strong customer services skills
• High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred
• On-call rotation, Weekend and Holiday rotations

• Will perform work inside and outdoors in any weather, squatting, bending, pushing, and pulling
• Regularly lifts heavy weights up to 75 pounds

• Competitive wage of $24.43 - $26.89 per hour with attractive shift differential, opportunity for overtime, and on-call pay.
