Low Voltage Cabling Technician - New York City

Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Cabling Technician to support commercial cabling projects throughout New York City. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with CAT5/CAT6 cabling, terminations, testing, and installation of supporting infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Pull, route, terminate, and label CAT5/CAT6 network cabling
- Perform terminations on patch panels, jacks, and RJ45 connectors
- Test and certify installed cables in accordance with industry and company standards
- Install various cable support structures including:
- Cable racks
- J‑hooks
- Innerduct
- Ladder racks
- Related pathways and hardware
- Read and interpret cabling layouts, floor plans, and documentation
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments on job sites
Skills & Qualifications
- 1-3+ years of structured cabling or low‑voltage installation experience
- Strong understanding of CAT5/CAT6 network cabling
- Ability to perform copper terminations and cable testing
- Experience working in commercial environments (offices, data centers, construction sites)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders/scissor lifts as needed
- Reliable transportation to travel to NYC job sites
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Experience with additional low‑voltage systems (security, access control, CCTV, fiber)
- Familiarity with Fluke or similar cable certification tools
- OSHA 10/30 certification (preferred but not required)
This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
