About the Role
This Apprentice position is a developmental opportunity designed for individuals with little to no prior experience in this role or our industry. The role provides hands-on training and mentorship to build foundational skills, with the goal of preparing the apprentice for certification and long-term success in the field.
What You'll Be Doing
* Assist with inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy diesel equipment and mobile machinery
* Learn to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues under the guidance of experienced mechanics
* Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety
* Safely utilize tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop systems in compliance with company procedures
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to a safe, organized work area
What Are We Looking For
* Demonstrated interest in heavy diesel mechanics, equipment maintenance, or a related skilled trade
* Ability to learn technical concepts and apply problem‑solving skills in a hands‑on environment
* Strong attention to safety, quality, and following established procedures
* Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
* Capability to perform physical work, including lifting and working around heavy equipment
* Willingness and ability to learn technical procedures and pursue certification
Conditions of Employment
* Successful candidate must submit to post‑offer pre‑employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check

Work Environment
* Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
