Irrigation Systems Technician

FLSA Status:

Join our dynamic team as an Irrigation Systems Technician! We are looking for a skilled and passionate individual to service, modify, and install irrigation systems efficiently. Key Responsibilities
  • Client Management
    • Provide exceptional customer service, representing our company positively at all times.
    • Quickly respond to client inquiries and ensure their satisfaction with the services provided.
    • Keep the management informed about any client concerns and communications.
    • Maintain a friendly and adaptable attitude with all clients.
    • Inspect job sites and advise clients on any potential safety concerns.
    • Communicate effectively in English and/or Spanish.
  • Safety Management
    • Uphold safety standards and promote a safe working environment.
    • Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) in line with regulations.
    • Ensure all products and work areas are stored securely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Brand Compliance
    • Keep company vehicles and equipment clean and professionally presented.
  • Equipment Management
    • Maintain tools and equipment according to established schedules to ensure peak performance.
    • Be responsible for the proper care and use of assigned equipment.
    • Ensure all tools are functional and clean, using them as instructed.
  • Quality Control/Scheduling
    • Quality Control
      • Adhere to established job specifications for quality work.
      • Aim for high client satisfaction on job renewals.
      • Restore any disturbed areas to original specifications after repairs.
  • Irrigation Duties
    • Know the locations of all water meters and backflow shut-off devices.
    • Report necessary irrigation repairs to the management.
    • Effectively monitor and adjust irrigation controllers.
    • Aim for zero plant material loss due to controller management.
  • Field Operations
    • Test and inspect all irrigation systems, documenting details in the Service Request form.
    • Set irrigation controllers per contractual obligations and maintain water-wise practices.
    • Adjust irrigation patterns, dates, and timings as necessary.
    • Perform essential repairs, including fixing leaks and replacing faulty heads and valves.
    • Document all work hours, materials used, and provide renovation suggestions.
    • Locate existing backflows and prepare detailed zone charts for systems.
    • Work independently when required and be adaptable to various tasks daily.
    • Be available for on-call emergencies.
  • Office and Administration
    • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, following oral and written instructions.
    • Organize and manage work schedules efficiently.
    • Complete all necessary forms and comply with updated procedures.
    • Stay current on industry products and equipment.
    • Follow all irrigation regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.
    • Keep the area for irrigation parts and supplies safe for all team members.
    • Possess a valid state driver's license that meets company standards.
Typical Qualifications

To succeed as an Irrigation Systems Technician, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

    :
    Strong written and oral communication abilities are essential.
  • Physical Demands
    :
    Ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift/move up to 60 pounds as necessary.

    Prepared to work in various weather conditions, with exposure to mechanical parts and moderate noise levels.
