The Telecommunications SpecialistThe Telecommunications Specialist is responsible for administrative and maintenance of LiveOnNY’s communication systems (voice, voice mail, call recording and data), related software patches, security updates, end-user training and complying with regulations to achieve business objectives. The Telecommunications Specialist is responsible for ensuring responsive, secure and scalable telecommunications systems, and ensuring that telecommunication delivery for adds, moves, station changes and related voice equipment, including keeping telecommunications records current, is accomplished.
In this role, you will report directly to and work closely with the Vice President, Chief Administrative and Technology Officer, as well as work with the Chief Architect and Information Technology Engineers.
- Operations and Maintenance:
Manage daily operations of telecommunications to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective operations. Trouble shooting and support of telecommunications systems and procedures and processes in support of communications needs. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to coordinate telecommunications services. - Telecommunications Implementation and Maintenance:
Participate in initiatives to modernize and adopt new telecommunication technologies and integrate them into the business to improve operations. Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing applications. - Proven Understanding of Telecommunications:
An understanding of voice, and telecommunications design, protocols, and products is required. Ability to solve technical, user and other related problems required. - Culture and Communication:
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical business customers, stakeholders, and other teams to define requirements and resolve issues. Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to train staff with different levels of technical ability. - Security:
Participate in the provisioning of training, support, and guidance to departments and end-users. - Quality and Compliance:
Enforce technical standards and best practices and ensure the efficient operation of the Telecommunications Department. - Risk Management:
Identify and manage telecommunications risks and assure compliance with federal, state, and city telecommunications laws, rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field is required. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in and demonstrated understanding of telecommunications and call center management. Excellent organizational skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and telecommunications software, including call trees, message development, reporting and dashboards. Ability to teach, train and work as a team member.
PreferredExperience working with cellular services, data network and wireless communication is preferred. Previous experience in a position with substantially similar responsibilities, in both level of complexity and size of the telecommunications…
