Job Title: Maintenance Worker

Location: New York, NY 10017

Duration: Contract 4 Months

Job Mode: On-Site

Pay rate: $32.00/hour on w2 without benefits

Shift hours: Monday through Friday from Regular Shifts

Job Description
  • Perform installation, de-installation and relocation of office furniture (workstations and offices).
  • Perform basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs.
  • Perform flooring, carpeting and drop ceiling installations and repairs.
  • Perform painting and minor repairs of damaged walls.
  • Perform installation and repair of locks.
  • Maintain all storage rooms and warehouse areas in an organized manner.
  • Relocation of staff from one location to another, which entails but is not limited to, manual relocation of moving crates, filing cabinets, furniture & fixtures, and other items as necessary.
  • Conference rooms setups for meetings and UNICEF events including tables, chairs, flip charts, and other items as necessary.
  • Distribution and pickup of garbage and recycling bins (when requested).
  • Create and install name plates and plaques using a PC based engraving system (we will train).
  • Follow up on maintenance related requests as dispatched by the Facilities Management Help Desks of DFAM.
  • Perform other maintenance and conference services related duties as requested by the supervisor.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs.
  • Basic Locksmith knowledge, such as installation and repairs.
  • Able to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Familiarity with Knoll Morrison Furniture Systems a plus.
  • Professional, courteous and responsive.
  • Well organized and ability to follow up on multiple requests / projects.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Familiar with Windows7 Operating System and E-Mail;
    Microsoft Word a plus.
Education and Experience
  • High School Graduation or Higher.
  • Previous experience performing similar duties and responsibilities desirable.
Requirement
  • Must be able to work off hours and weekends on short notice.
  • Must be pre-screened with full background checks.
  • Must be medically cleared to work.
