The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Performs operations as required by job work order and/or blueprint or diagram in preventive maintenance and repairs to various types of electrical equipment.

• Performs operations as required by job work order and/or blueprint or diagram in preventive maintenance and repairs to various types of electrical equipment such as motors, control and power circuits, switches, generators, transformers, relays, motor controllers, rectifier units, electrical devices, systems and apparatus, load distributions, cables, and printed circuitry.
• Must be proficient in the use of all tools of the electrical trade and must be skilled in the operations of electrical test equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, multi-meters, meggers, tachometers, temperature gauges, watt meters, phase meters, and various recording devices.
• Required to maintain a home telephone and be accessible for emergency calls during evenings and on non-working days. Expected to accept a proportional share of scheduled overtime work.
• Must be proficient in interpreting blueprints and schematics to assess circuitry requirements. Supervises and guides lower-level employees on projects involving electrical repairs and installations, ensuring compliance with the Electrical Code of the City of New York.

• High school diploma and/or equivalent or electrical trade school diploma required.
• 6 years in the electrical field, 2 years experience as an "A" mechanic, and 1 year experience in electro‑magnetic controllers.
