A Fire Alarm Systems Programmer will directly oversee all duties and tasks of this functional discipline. The Fire Alarm Systems Programmer reports directly to the Senior Director of Project Operations and oversees the discipline and functions related to the daily duties associated with this role.
The person will be directly responsible for the execution of all Fire Alarm system tasks in accordance with the detailed duties and corresponding regulatory codes and standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Ability to read, interpret, and execute blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
- Ability to program or proven experience in programming low voltage systems, fire alarm.
- Consistently apply specific skills and relevant Fire Alarm system knowledge including underlying professional/technical principles or standards.
- Play an integral role in Fire Alarm project execution, including the coordination of equipment delivery and interface with other trades to successfully complete projects in order to exceed Customer and Company expectations.
- Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and other relevant building systems at customer sites.
- Adhere to methods of procedure required to troubleshoot systems in accordance with technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. to repair equipment.
- Service, troubleshoot and install many different manufacturers’ Fire Alarm systems, as required to meet Customer and Company expectations.
- Ability to understand specific Scope of Work requirements as outlined by contractors and customers, to uphold RFI needs and make potential recommendations.
- Perform and/or support the installation of fire related and/or other building systems products.
- Five (5) years+ proven experience in Fire Alarm Systems, both conventional and addressable type.
- Five (5) years+ experience in interior and exterior wiring and the repair of electrical equipment and appliances.
- Five (5) years+ experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
- Five (5) years+ of maintenance experience and an electrical license.
- Knowledge of test equipment, multi‑meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
- Experience of at least 2 major brands of fire control panels, factory training a plus.
- Excellent Industrial Electrical Problem Solving and Troubleshooting Skills.
- Valid Fire Alarm License.
- Computer fluency in Windows, Excel, and other Microsoft products.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred, but not required.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time depending on assigned geographic location.
