Job Title
Senior Maintenance Technician
Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical components of baggage handling systems and passenger boarding bridges, using hand tools, precision measuring, and testing instruments.
- Exercise safe working practices, complying with Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out procedures.
- Prepare and execute service calls, emergency maintenance, and corrective maintenance work orders.
- Follow up on preventive maintenance and report service calls to management.
- Advise on optimization of subsystems, consulting supervisors and proposing improvements to service processes.
- Analyze system performance and occasionally monitor systems from the Control Room.
- Develop supporting tools and means for maintenance, complete CMMS service reports, parts usage, and warranty records.
- Research and request spare parts, tracking inventory.
- Work independently on preventive maintenance and identify issues in planning and tooling.
- Provide input for improvements and independently correct standard faults.
- Train, instruct, and give guidance to mechanics.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 5+ years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
- Hands‑on experience with electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Minimum 2 years of material handling experience.
- Minimum 1 year of CMMS experience.
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Good working knowledge of high and low level control systems.
Full‑time position; 24/7 operation; overtime, weekend, and holiday work.
CompensationThe salary range for this position is approximately $32 – $36 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Work Environment and Physical DemandsTechnicians work in secured baggage handling areas, repair stations, or on airfields. They often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules. Workers frequently bend, stoop, and reach from ladders and scaffolds. The employee regularly talks and hears and often reaches with hands and arms. The position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day, and frequently lifting or moving items over 50 pounds.
Technicians handle equipment such as conveyor systems and work with greasy parts and tools, sometimes in uncomfortable positions while exposed to mechanical parts and vibration.
This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position, eligible to receive an hourly rate and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The hourly rate and final hourly rate offered are determined by factors including candidate skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate‑dependent.
