Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ironworker to join our dynamic construction team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the fabrication, assembly, and installation of structural steel and iron components used in the construction of buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects. This position demands a thorough understanding of blueprints, blueprints interpretation, and safety protocols to ensure projects are completed accurately and safely.
As an Ironworker, you will work at various heights and in all weather conditions, collaborating closely with other construction professionals to meet project deadlines and quality standards. If you are physically fit, have excellent problem-solving skills, and take pride in your craft, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to major projects while advancing your career in the construction industry.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.
- Measure, cut, and shape metal components using hand and power tools.
- Erect and install structural steel frameworks, girders, and columns at construction sites.
- Weld, bolt, and secure metal pieces to create stable and durable structures.
- Operate cranes and hoists for lifting heavy steel elements safely.
- Inspect and maintain metal structures to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
- Adhere strictly to safety regulations and wear appropriate protective gear during all tasks.
- Proven experience as an Ironworker or in a similar construction role.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Proficiency with welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Physical strength and stamina to work with heavy materials and at heights.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and commitment to workplace safety.
- Valid certification or apprenticeship completion in iron working or related field.
