This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations:
Silo Ridge Field Club, set in Amenia, New York.

Silo Ridge Field Club is seeking a Residential Services Technician to join the Residential Services Department. This is a full time year-round position.

The Residential Services Technician is responsible for execution of all maintenance tasks and vendor communication at Condominiums, Cottages and Estate Homes. Performing all required Residential Services tasks and home checks for homeowners enrolled in Preventative Maintenance Program. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for home functionality of homes enrolled in the Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Identify and schedule all necessary preventative maintenance for onsite enrolled homes.
  • Perform general minor maintenance handyman tasks.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections in accordance with program outline.
  • Create home-specific checklists to effectively schedule and track maintenance performed at all homes.
  • Provide preventative maintenance recommendations to enrolled homes.
  • Schedule vendors for projects as needed.
  • Be a direct contact for vendors conducting maintenance onsite.
  • Be a direct contact for Condo, Cottage, and Estate Home owners’ maintenance needs.
  • Communicate effectively with Residential Services Office and personnel.
  • Source and maintain inventory of necessary tools and supplies to complete minor maintenance tasks.
  • Work effectively with all RS key personnel to continue to improve full scope of services.
  • Knowledgeable of all property emergency, safety/disaster plans and procedures.
  • Responds promptly to emergencies.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited technical school or apprenticeship, preferred.
  • 1+ years hands‑on experience with HVAC and electrical equipment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid Drivers License.
  • Proficiency in general maintenance and use of hand tools, including painting, sanding, basic electric.
  • Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems.
  • Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building.

  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (60) pounds.
