Assistant Field Technician

Busy Mechanical HVAC Construction Company looking for a motivated, responsible, and energized Assistant Field Technician to join our team.

Salary: $18.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience. Job Type: Full-time. Job

Hours:

Monday to Friday 8 hrs Per Day, 30 min lunch, hours variable based on project needs, must be able to do overtime when necessary.

Ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of Mechanical HVAC systems, excellent communication & organization skills, strong willingness to learn, follow instructions, be a team player with a “Can-Do” attitude. As many of our projects are with NYC public schools where we only have access after school, candidates must be flexible on work hours and overtime as needed.

Job will require travel to multiple jobsites throughout the NYC area. It is best if the candidate has a clean valid driver’s license and a car or reliable transportation. As our projects are mostly public construction jobsites, candidates will also need to have at least a Site Safety Training SST 40 Worker card and OSHA 30 issued within the last 5 years.

• SST 40 Worker card and willingness to acquire SST 62 Supervisor card
• Willingness to work various hours as jobsite requires
• Basic Mechanical HVAC background / MEP trade experience & knowledge
• Basic construction experience & knowledge
• Reliable and responsible
• “Can Do” and “Get the Job Done” attitude
• Comfortable driving large cargo vans / sprinters when needed
• Comfortable driving in NYC, all five boroughs, and traveling to multiple jobsite locations
• Ability to follow directions and work as a member of a team
• Ability to move up to 60 lbs on a regular basis
• Diligent about cleaning and maintaining vehicles
• Comfortable moving, loading, and unloading construction materials, equipment, tools, etc.
• May be exposed to extreme temperature changes of 40 degrees or less for extended periods of time and noise

Previous experience with public construction jobsites is a plus.
