Management
Oversees facility maintenance, construction, and operations for New York City Transit stations and facilities. Manages multiple trades and leads repair, inspection, and rehabilitation work across structural, electrical, plumbing, and architectural systems.
ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all facility maintenance, construction, and operational activities, including supervision of personnel and multiple building trades. Responsibilities include overseeing inspection, maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and corrective work for outstanding defects and work orders involving structural, plumbing, and architectural systems; developing cost estimates; coordinating general orders; and supporting capital projects from scope development through construction closeout.
The candidate will also assume the duties and responsibilities of the General Superintendent in their absence.
High School Diploma or Equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of experience, of which three (3) years must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
Desired Skills Technical & Operational Knowledge- Construction trades, project management, and maintenance management techniques
- NYC Transit budget practices and material procurement procedures
- MTA NYCT rules, regulations, safety standards, and labor contracts
- Familiarity with HVAC and boiler operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- General building maintenance, including plumbing, lighting, and carpentry
- Proficiency with EAM systems
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
