DutiesResponsible for the maintenance, operation and repair of electrical equipment. While the employee will mostly work on electrical equipment, may also be required to work on mechanical, refrigeration, HVAC, and general building repair.
Minimum Qualifications- Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson, providing training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.
- The chosen candidate will be required to obtain a Class B permit issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle within 30 days of appointment and must obtain a Class B license as a condition of satisfactory completion of the probationary period.
- The preferred candidate will have experience working under a journeyman-level electrician or have apprenticeship training in the electrical trade and also some experience in other recognized skilled trades such as plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
This is a Unit 1 Teamsters position. The NYS Thruway Authority offers an extensive benefits package, including but not limited to paid time off, sick leave incentive, membership to the NYS Retirement System, and 90% tuition assistance.
Additional Pay:
- Base Pay: $29.51–$31.95 per hour
- Recruitment & Retention Pay: $3.37 per hour
