Position OverviewWe are hiring experienced Heating Technicians who can confidently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heating systems with minimal supervision. This role is ideal for a self‑starter who knows how to think critically, research solutions, and leverage resources such as manufacturer tech support and online documentation when needed.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair:
- Gas hot‑water and steam boilers
- Wall‑hung gas and electric units
- Furnaces and HVAC systems (strong plus)
- Service hot water and steam heating systems
- Identify and resolve system failures efficiently and accurately
- Communicate clearly with customers and team members
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and professionalism
- Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience working with heating systems
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience with:
- Wall‑hung boilers
- Conventional cast‑iron boilers
- Hot water and steam systems
- Gas and electric water heaters
- Experience installing packaged and sectional gas‑fired steam and hot‑water boilers is a plus
- Knowledge of furnaces and HVAC systems is a strong plus
- Proficient with an electronic multi‑tester
- Solid understanding of:
- Low‑water cut‑offs
- Fill valves
- Flame‑out sensors
- Aquastats
- Relief valves
- Expansion tanks
- Flue piping
- Thermocouples
- Gas valves
- Other related boiler components
- Ability to wire new boilers is a plus
- Self‑starter mentality — you don’t wait to be told what to do
- Ability to find answers independently by:
- Calling manufacturers
- Using online technical resources and manuals
- Strong problem‑solving skills
- Efficient, accurate execution of work
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Clean, valid driver’s license (not suspended or revoked; low/no points)
- Dependable, punctual, and accountable
