Bridge Appliances, Inc. Field Service Technician New York, NY
· Full time Apply for Field Service Technician
We are looking for a hands‑on, mechanically inclined Field Service Technician to keep our fleet of kitchen appliances running across the New York Metro region. This role is not desk‑based nor limited to software. It requires a hands‑on individual who is comfortable working in operational environments, handling equipment, and independently troubleshooting mechanical or system issues under real‑world conditions.
Who You AreYou are a 'fixer' by nature. Whether it is your own truck, a commercial dishwasher, or a complex industrial HVAC system, you have an innate knack for taking things apart and putting them back together safely. You don't need a manual for every single bolt, and you take immense pride in the fact that when you walk out of a kitchen, the machine is fully operational and back in service.
You enjoy getting your hands dirty and you feel a strong sense of accomplishment when you troubleshoot and repair a piece of equipment.
- The Early Spike: Hit the road early to provide support coverage starting at 5:30 AM when operators open up. If a machine won't start, the kitchen can't serve food—you are the vital first responder.
- Mechanical Troubleshooting: Diagnose hardware failures, worn gears, seized motors, and electrical shorts in high‑heat, high‑moisture kitchen environments with urgency.
- Wrench‑Turning & Field Repairs: Perform tactical field repairs including component part swaps, belt tensioning, sensor realignments, and precision cleaning/calibrations.
- Heavy Lifting & Unit Swaps: Physically load, transport, and swap entire equipment modules when a field‑level fix is not viable. A company van is fully provided.
- Toolbox & Van Management: Maintain a perfectly organized and well‑stocked mobile inventory. Ensure you always have the right nuts, bolts, parts, and tools on hand.
- Operational Documentation: Log all service details, breakages, and fixes directly into Hub Spot and Jira to provide our engineering team with accurate, real‑world failure analysis.
- 2+ years of hands‑on field experience independently diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electromechanical appliances, including motors, sensors, and control systems, in a field service setting.
- Expert proficiency with diagnostic tools, multi‑meters, hand tools, and power equipment.
- High level of self‑direction to optimize your own routes and prioritize urgent service issues across the New York Metro region.
- Physical grit:
Ability to lift and transport up to 80 lbs independently and spend extended periods on your feet in cramped commercial kitchen layouts. - A clean driving record and valid driver’s license (subject to a comprehensive background check).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Kitchen Appliance experience.
- Ability to travel outside of New England to assist other regions as needed.
