POSITION OVERVIEW As a 2nd Shift Electrician your roles and responsibilities will include:
The 2nd Shift Electrician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving electrical systems and production equipment within a manufacturing facility. This role supports plant operations by ensuring machinery, control systems, communication systems, and electrical infrastructure operate safely and efficiently with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical equipment and systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance specifications.
• Diagnose electrical, control, and communication system failures and perform corrective repairs.
• Maintain and repair:
  • Electrical wiring
  • Circuit breakers
  • Transformers
  • Control systems
  • Communication systems
  • Production machinery
• Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Fabricate and modify parts using shop equipment such as drill presses, band saws, threading machines, shears, and press brakes.
• Perform soldering and silver soldering as required.
• Follow National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and plant safety requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records and documentation.
• Support housekeeping and continuous improvement efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS Most importantly, you need to be a passionate 2nd Shift Electrician who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal 2nd Shift Electrician would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:

• 3–5 years of industrial or commercial electrical experience.
• Completion of one of the following:
  • State Licensed Journeyman Apprenticeship Program
  • Trade School Certification
  • Associate Degree in an electrical-related field
• Manufacturing environment experience or IBEW experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and control systems independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• State Licensed Journeyman Electrician.
• 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
• At least 2 years of manufacturing plant experience.

Minimum Education:

Associate Degree in an electrical-related field / State Licensed Journeyman Apprenticeship Program / Trade School Certification
