Freelance Art Handler, Crozier

Crozier Fine Arts is seeking an experienced and self‑motivated freelance art handler to join our Field Team in Long Island City, NY.

• Handle, move, wrap, pack, and crate a diverse range of objects—including fine art, decorative arts, and furniture—using Crozier’s techniques and materials to achieve damage‑free preservation and transit preparation.
• Collaborate with clients, driving teams, and company management by acting as the onsite liaison, determining project strategy, and ensuring clear communication and follow‑through.
• Ensure compliance with the highest industry standards by planning, organizing, and loading trucks for safety during transit, conducting inspection reports, and maintaining discretion on all projects.
• Install/uninstall art for onsite projects and load/unload trucks to ensure safe transit.
• Spend about 5 % of your time on a laptop/desktop computer or telephone to manage project logistics.

• 3–5 years of experience in art handling within a gallery, museum, or commercial fine‑art space.
• Strong knowledge of industry‑standard techniques and materials for packing, crating, installing, and uninstalling artwork.
• Proven ability in effective communication, self‑motivation, attention to detail, and teamwork.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to regional locations for onsite work.
• Physical requirement: willing and able to lift, move, push, and pull heavy objects (in excess of 75 lbs), bend, kneel, crouch, and stand, and work flexible hours based on project needs.

• Pay:
  Starting at $25.00 /hr (negotiations depending on experience), weekly direct deposit.
