Installation Technician, General Labor, Building Maintenance
Location: New York
$20.00-$30.00 per hour based on experience, with additional earning potential tied to production.
Key Responsibilities- Loading, unloading, and logging materials onto a truck
- Follow the shelving template to cut materials, pre-drill holes, and fasten closet shelves. Ensure the proper installation of brackets, supports, and hardware for secure shelving systems
- Install shower door kits and custom shower doors
- Measure and mount mirror(s) to the wall, ensuring they are level
- Fasten and attach hardware for bath accessory items as needed
- Work with project managers and clients to ensure installations meet design requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are always followed
- May be required to drive a company vehicle. If so, always follow all driving rules and DOT requirements and maintain your tools/truck
- Report and document any damage or discrepancies in materials and products.
- Record and hand in daily paperwork
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Installation experience is a plus
- Proficient in using hand and power tools safely
- Able to work in tight spaces
- Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
- Able to climb ladders and scaffolding
- Able to bend, twist, and turn the body at the shoulders, waist, and knees
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
The physical demands of this role involve frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching to install items such as wire shelving, shower doors, mirrors, and hardware. The installer must regularly lift and carry materials and tools, sometimes weighing over 50 pounds, and work in various positions to complete installations in tight or awkward spaces. Manual dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively are essential.
The role also requires mobility to move through residential construction sites and attention to detail to complete final punch‑out tasks efficiently.
