About the Position
As a Controls Technician, you will play a key role in supporting Carrier’s service operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and commissioning DDC control systems integrated with HVAC equipment.
We are seeking a motivated, detail‑oriented technician who is committed to delivering excellent service and strong customer support. This position provides a foundational entry point into the controls field, where you will build your technical expertise through hands‑on work with control systems, software, and field devices.
You'll begin by performing routine troubleshooting and service tasks, with assignments increasing in complexity as you develop your skills.

What you Will Do- Maintain and repair DDC control systems applied to HVAC systems.
- Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify communication between controllers.
- Maintain electronic components installed in the field and Carrier software and graphics.
- Upload software or software upgrades to frontend PCs as required to keep the system updated.
- Provide basic customer training on operating and navigating the Carrier Building Automation System.
- Work under limited supervision for routine service situations.
- Interact with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines.
- Adhere to all CCS and customer safety standards; promote safety awareness on work sites.
- Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the facility; ensure high levels of customer satisfaction; meet regularly with customer representatives to become familiar with the operation of the customer facility; keep customers informed of the nature of service performed.
- Communicate outstanding issues and recommend system enhancements, upgrades, and/or repairs; identify additional opportunities to solve issues; work with the service account manager to engineer and estimate solutions.
- Perform system maintenance in accordance with established service practices; maintain feedback of equipment scheduling and modifications needed to the service account manager.
- Commission, start‑up, and test control systems; ensure specified sequences of operation are met and perform accordingly to customer and industry standards.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience in HVAC controls.
- 5+ years of experience in Commercial HVAC.
- Valid and current Driver’s License; insurable by the company’s insurance carrier.
- Willingness to participate in rotating on‑call schedule.
- Ability to stand, crawl, sit, squat, and climb a ladder for extended periods; ability to lift equipment 8 ft above grade.
- Ability to push/pull/lift 50 lb.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience using Salesforce and Service Max.
- Experience with Carrier controls, CCN, IVU, and controls upgrades.

Pay RangeThe hourly rate for this position is between $38.00–$76.00 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
