Description Overview

Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and upgrade of all utility systems across all three buildings, including HVAC, boiler, chillers, electrical panels, dust collectors, control panels, power wires, signal wires, pumps, HMI controls, heat trace, micromotions, water systems, water treatment, PET/Glycol systems, sprinklers, doors, heat exchangers, and plumbing systems. The role also includes providing water to manufacturing and general housekeeping tasks such as roof cleaning, battery and ceiling replacement, bathroom clogs, painting, wall patching, and general carpentry.

This is a union position with a pay range of $35.00 – $40.00 per hour.

Scope of the Role
  • Responsible for operations and troubleshooting of facilities systems in compliance with applicable codes, state requirements, and company SOPs. (30%)
  • Performs utility system rebuilding, installation, upgrade, and preventative maintenance. (30%)
  • Completes general work orders and interfaces with other technicians across shifts in a team environment. (30%)
  • Performs special projects and other related duties specific to the department as assigned. (10%)
Experience Required
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalency.
  • Must have Q01 Certificate of Qualification for Refrigerating System Operating Engineer.
  • Demonstrated cooperative work conduct and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Five or more years of solid work experience in plural maintenance skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.), or three (3) years as a Perrigo Set‑Up Tech plus at least two years of completed education in a related program from an accredited institution.
  • Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) background desirable.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Suite and experience with CMMS such as SAP required; navigation through computer‑based training systems desirable.
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints.
  • Commitment to meeting schedules and deadlines through good attendance and willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Works from ladders and man lifts; continuously lifts 20–50 lbs. frequently.
  • Ability to stand on concrete floors for 8–12 hours.
  • Capability to push or pull up to 400 lbs. using a manual cart.
  • Must stoop, squat, and bend.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and high areas with proper procedures and sustained reach.
  • Frequent grasping of small hand tools, calipers, etc.
  • Adequate visual and audio acuity for safe operation in an industrial environment.
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment to comply with hazardous procedures.
  • Minimum 40 hours per week with required overtime, extended shifts, weekends.
  • Must pass scissor lift driving, forklift driving test, confined space training, and fall arrest training provided by Perrigo.
  • Must be able to wear negative or positive pressure respirators daily for long periods; medically cleared to wear respirators without restrictions.
  • Must comply with local safety, environmental, and health practices, SOPs, GMPs, safety/housekeeping guidelines, and Material Safety Data Sheets.
