Job DescriptionConcern Housing is seeking a Handyman responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance needs of all areas of the Surf Vets building including the grounds, office, common areas, and units.
- Perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds at Surf Vets including inspections, carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, masonry, painting, cleaning, yard care; repairs and treatments of structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, carpets; repairs door hinges; changes filters on systems; services appliances; reports malfunctions to supervisor; moves and assists in moving furniture and equipment;
exercises discretion in identifying projects requiring the services of higher‑skilled craftsperson; maintains clean, safe, and orderly work areas. - Be available for overtime hours as needed and as directed by Supervisor.
- Perform maintenance tasks as directed by the Superintendent and Assistant Property Manager.
- Responsible for the care of tools and equipment used in performing tasks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Remain current with all agency‑required compliance documents and trainings.
High School Diploma or equivalent. At least 2 years’ experience in building facility maintenance and repair, including inspections, carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, painting, and yard care.
