Osmose Utilities Services, Inc. specializes in providing services to the electric utility and telecommunications industries on a national scale. We are currently seeking candidates for Field Data Technicians in the Southeast United States area.
PositionSummary
Field Data Technician will start at $22/hour plus opportunity for hourly bonus with weekly pay, plus hotel expenses, contract specific pay increase, living allowance and $4‑5/hour untaxed reimbursement for vehicle usage. The role requires routine overnight travel typically 1‑2 weeks at a time away from home, with most weekends at home and occasional out‑of‑state assignments that may involve longer stays up to a month.
Responsibilities- Work in an outdoor environment to collect field data that supports the engineering and design of fiber‑optic cable facilities, including measurements of attachment heights, span distances, angles, etc.
- Submit organized, detailed data for each project that could include maps, field notes and digital images.
- Operate and maintain equipment that includes a tablet computer, digital camera, measuring tools and personal protective equipment.
- Work professionally in the field as a representative of Osmose and our customers.
- Communicate effectively and on a daily basis with the project management team.
- Work safely and independently of supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
- Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of pole design including NESC requirements and general safety practices is a plus.
- Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather and desire to participate in physically demanding work lifting 15 to 20 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Basic proficiency with computers, including ability to read, interpret and follow GPS maps.
- Ability to follow process specifications and guidelines in an extremely high‑quality, high‑paced environment.
- Ability to travel and work outside in variable terrain and weather conditions.
- Must have reliable transportation.

- Minimum 1 year of outdoor work‑related experience.
- Minimum 1 year working in a role that required following a safety program or safety protocols (must provide details).
- Minimum 6 months experience working in a quality‑controlled environment (must provide details).
- Minimum 6 months experience traveling to various work locations including occasional overnight stays.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
