Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Location: Groveland Corners
POSITION SUMMARY: The position is primarily responsible for conducting equipment set‑up, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy duty mine production equipment.
Pay Range- Mechanic – $31.56/hr to $35.08/hr
- Maintenance Trainee – $31.56/hr to $32.04/hr
- Overtime: 1.5× pay after 8 hours in a day and 40 hours in a week; 2× pay after 48 hours in a week
- Increases available through electrician training program
- Eligible for employee bonuses day one

- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
- Apply mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, welding, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of heavy‑duty mining equipment and other equipment used in the mining process.
- Read and interpret industrial equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Comply with MSHA safety and health rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
- 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience, education, and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Must be available to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and extended hours as needed.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Additional InformationCandidates must have open availability to work a 40‑hour work week with the availability to work any shift, including mandatory Saturday schedules when necessary.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to use hands, fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 80 pounds.
The employee must routinely inspect and/or work on heavy machinery, which may require them to climb up into engines or into the cabs of said machinery, up to 10 feet in height. The position requires work in an area that is dusty and may expose to occasional diesel fumes. Work surfaces under feet may include solid concrete, be uneven, contain heaves, boulders, and other aggregate material that could cause unstable footing and that would require an individual to stand upon for at least eight hours per day or at least forty hours per week.
