Field Service Technician

Alliance Machine Systems International, LLC is seeking an experienced field service technician to install, service, maintain, and audit high‑end equipment in the paper and packaging industries. The role requires frequent travel, hands‑on technical problem‑solving, and direct customer impact.

• Install equipment and associated machinery as required to interface with new or existing production line equipment.
• Perform ring‑out, reliable controls level calibration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and acceptance protocol to ensure equipment performs to specification.
• Program PLC and HMI logic independently and/or with Engineering for customer equipment installs, repairs, and general maintenance.
• Demonstrate proficiency in primary categories of machinery, components, control systems, PLC programs, and sub‑system interactions for installations, service calls, or preventive maintenance/reactive audits.
• Serve as on‑site supervisor/project manager for equipment installation and training.
• Train customer personnel on equipment functions, safety features, machine operation, operator interface devices, service requirements, accessibility, spare parts, and the operations manual.
• Travel independently to customer sites for equipment service, installation, and training, demonstrating an understanding of fundamentals of customer service.

• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of full range of body movement; must have good balance and no fear of heights while working on ladders.
• Able to sit or stand for extended periods.

• High School graduate or G.E.D. (associate or bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering preferred).
• 5–7 years supervisory, installation, and maintenance experience with material handling or industrial machinery, strong electrical/mechanical/PLC background.
• Strong technical background in industrial equipment.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Willing to travel 75% or more.
• Excellent mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical knowledge; ability to read blueprints, schematics, and layout drawings.
• Proficient in assembling, servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electro‑mechanical machinery, PLC/HMI automation, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with industrial sensors, analog/digital positioning, variable frequency drives, and advanced PLCs.
• Advanced knowledge of PLCs and machine language: reading ladder logic; uploading/downloading programs to Siemens S7/STEP7, Allen‑Bradley SLC
  500, Compact Logix/RSLogix.
