Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Location: New York
Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Painter A—Brooklyn. In this role, the successful candidate prepares various surfaces for finishes, mixes paint colors, and demonstrates knowledge of appropriate application of paint using various applicators. The candidate must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities:- Prepare surfaces for finish (plaster compound, etc.)
- Handle all facets of plant and building maintenance, including the storage of hazardous materials and chemicals that the department utilizes.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Know how to strip primer and spray metal surfaces.
- Remove and replace cove base and borders.
- Perform miscellaneous jobs as required (cleaning, moving, etc.).
- Work in a clean and safe manner.
- Use proper masking and correct solvents and mixing agents.
- Spackle, tape, and sheetrock plaster joints and corner beads.
- Have experience installing various wall coverings.
- Know how to use brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Use hand tools and some power tools properly.
- Have knowledge of various types of paints and applications.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Trade school training preferred.
- 3+ years experience in painting or related field.
- Knowledge of paints and applicators.
- Excellent knowledge of wall coverings, spackle, tape, joints, and protective strips.
Qualified candidates must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $73,836.05 – $73,836.05 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The listed salary range does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
