Job SummaryEMCOR Services NY/NJ has an opportunity for a Controls Service Technician. The Controls Services Technician is responsible for completing service calls while maintaining positive client relations.
ScopeComplete scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency service calls on existing BMS, install, troubleshoot, and repair system components including sensors, actuators, controllers, and networking devices. Troubleshoot installations and correct deficiencies without direct oversight. Perform functional testing and system validation. Effectively communicate with customers to evaluate service needs, maintain proper scheduling and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Monitor customer buildings to ensure optimum performance standards are being achieved.
Fine tune systems as new programs and sequences are introduced. Identify opportunities for additional building enhancements and perform upgrades and/or small scale retrofits on existing systems. Perform building surveys and work with Service Manager on estimating additional work. Perform necessary software programming, equipment start-up, tuning and calibration and commissioning of BAS. Be proficient in knowledge of following equipment: VAVs, Exhaust Fans, Unit Vents, AHUs, Hot Water Systems, Chiller Water Systems.
Stay informed of industry developments for energy savings strategies. Effectively provide feedback to supervisor for ways to improve the installation. Assume additional responsibilities as needed and approved by management.

- Field experience in the HVAC controls industry including DDC Systems commissioning, software integration operation, calibration and experience with pneumatic controls
- Experience with Honeywell Niagara/Tridium N4 is preferred
- Understanding of the construction industry with emphasis in mechanical/electrical
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication, organizational and documentation skills
