The Automation Engineering Apprentice (AEA) will learn to troubleshoot and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, labeling systems, scales, HMI systems, and control cabinets. You will work with complex, high‑performance manufacturing systems, learning to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair them to maintain process efficiency.

• Conduct preventative/corrective maintenance and basic troubleshooting of robotics and robotic work cells
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all material handling equipment components
• Maintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, tachs, etc.
• Assist with basic electronics and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) troubleshooting
• Move up to 49 lbs, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, climb ladders and gangways safely, and perform regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head

• Minimum of 1 year RME Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (MRT) experience
• Flexibility to work a schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
• Ability to commute to the specified site
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 1+ year experience using Microsoft Office products and applications
• Ability to enroll, attend, and complete a 12‑week training at a designated training area (location to be determined post‑interview)
• Commitment to a 2‑year onsite apprenticeship after the 12‑week training
• Knowledge of basic mathematics

• Experience in an electrical, mechanical, or controls field
• Experience with PLC‑controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment
• Experience with robotics work cells and their control systems
• Experience with Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, or Codesys PLCs
• Experience with electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment
• Experience interpreting, modifying, and developing mechanical and electrical drawings

Hourly wage: $31.32 - $36.85 (varies by location, experience, and other factors). The company will not pay less than minimum wage.
