Conveyor Belt Mechanic
The Conveyor Belt Mechanic is responsible for placing the utmost importance on working safely and always maintaining a safe & orderly work environment for self and others.
Brief DescriptionThe Conveyor Belt Mechanic is responsible for placing the utmost importance on working safely and always maintaining a safe & orderly work environment for self and others.
Responsibilities- Responsible for daily preventive maintenance checks.
- Supporting operations during runtimes.
- Track equipment failures.
- Clear Variable Frequency Dive Errors or replacement of VFD's if needed.
- Able to check signal integrity on sensors, encoders, and proximity switches.
- Able to conduct root cause analysis (RCA).
- -Knowledge of safety and lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures.
- Familiar with high-speed shoe sorters.
- Familiar with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Preform hot/cold vulcanized belt splices, lacing repairs, and pin replacement.
- Preform conveyors repairs including replacing conveyor belting, gearboxes, rollers, bearings and motors.
- Able to work with hand and power tools.
- Able to work in cold environments for extended periods of time.
- Able to work at heights.
- Able to lift a minimum of 40lbs.
- 4-6 Years of experience as conveyor belt and/or system mechanic/technician required
- Technical education related to mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration is required
- Safely operates various shop related equipment
- Lay out and construct additional electrical circuits or deleted circuits. Update any changes to electrical schematics
- Diagnosis electrical problems using various meters and related equipment
- Mechanical experience with varied kitchen and distribution center machinery
- Read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints
- Working knowledge of three phase motors and control circuits
- OSHA safety certification is a PLUS
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- In a workday: standing/walking 8-12 hours
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals
