AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Construction Laborer for immediate employment in the Upstate New York area. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: performing a variety of tasks in support of survey or construction activities; duties may differ depending on the specialty area; activities may include setting up and operating equipment; inspecting equipment; inspection of engineering installations for compliance with specifications;
maintaining project documentation; assisting with the building, repair, or maintenance of a structure or roadway. The position relies on general understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to plan and accomplish moderate goals and works under direct supervision.
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, passing a state and federal criminal history/security background check, passing a pre-employment drug screen, and being physically able to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including dusts, noise, chemicals, and vibration. The position requires frequent standing/walking; often performing repetitive bending/stooping, operation of vehicles, and lifting of less than 25 pounds;
occasionally working with arms above shoulder level, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), operating heavy, moving or dangerous equipment, working in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment, and lifting of 25-50 pounds; rarely performing work at heights, climbing stairs, using portable ladders, work in confined spaces, keyboard/mouse operations, repetitive or fine hand movements, and lifting of 50-75 pounds. The position will include wearing all associated personal protective equipment as assigned, including but not limited to gloves, safety glasses/goggles, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, and hearing protection.
Must participate and adhere to various safety training. Preferred qualifications include 2+ years of experience in site stabilization, MCP, dredging, construction oversight, PCB's landfill capping, demolition.
This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. This position does not include relocation benefits. Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. This posting is for a current vacancy, and AECOM intends to fill this position no sooner than September 21, 2026. All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
