Solar Electrician ​/ O&M

Location: New York City / Tri-State Area

Travel: Required – Multiple Project Sites

Seeking a Solar Electrician / O&M to support quality checks on commercial rooftop solar installations throughout the New York metropolitan area and New Jersey. This position will travel between active project sites and help ensure safe work practices, installation quality, and compliance with applicable construction, electrical, and safety requirements.

• Conduct routine safety and quality inspections at active solar construction sites.
• Verify proper fall protection, rooftop access, ladders, and required PPE.
• Monitor electrical safety practices, including equipment isolation and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Inspect solar racking, roof attachments, flashing, and penetrations for proper installation and weather protection.
• Review panels, wiring, conduit, grounding, and other system components for defects or installation issues.
• Confirm required clearances, fire-safety requirements, and rapid-shutdown provisions are being followed.
• Assist with electrical testing and verification before system commissioning.
• Document deficiencies, communicate corrective actions, and perform follow-up inspections.
• Monitor heat and weather conditions and ensure appropriate precautions are taken by field personnel.
• Work closely with project supervisors, contractors, and installation crews to resolve safety and quality concerns.

• OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain.
• CPR certification or willingness to complete training.
• Previous experience in solar, electrical, roofing, construction safety, or quality control preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify field issues.
• Comfortable working on commercial rooftops and active construction sites.
• Ability to travel regularly between project locations throughout the NYC/tri-state region.
