Overview
Safelite is an auto glass company that trains Technicians through a comprehensive apprenticeship. A Technician Trainee will learn tools, safety systems, and customer service to become a Safelite Certified Technician upon graduation.
Responsibilities- Be paid and apprentice the Safelite way through hands‑on and classroom training.
- Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass.
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshoot, and complete diagnostic testing.
- Provide additional services and products.
- Study and pass testing to become a Safelite‑certified Technician, demonstrating proficiency in installations and techniques.
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools, and chemicals used throughout the workday.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
- Competitive weekly pay starting at $25.50/hour, increasing to $30.25/hour after training and certification.
- Earn $5 per set of wiper blades sold.
- Potential for promotion within the first year based on performance metrics.
- Benefits package valued at more than $10k, including 401(k) with company match, medical plans, paid time off, holidays, and volunteer days.
- Option to buy additional paid time off or sell unused time up to 16 hours.
- Up to $5,250 annually in tuition reimbursement.
- Paid training, tools, and resources necessary for success.
- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (preferred).
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license (other licenses as required by law to operate a company vehicle).
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all laws and comply with vehicle‑safety camera monitoring.
- Professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work outside in various weather and temperature conditions.
- Ability to work with chemicals (including flammable chemicals) as required.
- Flexible scheduled days, adaptable start and end times.
- Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools for recalibration and troubleshooting.
- Problem‑solving and independent collaboration skills.
- Reading, writing, and interpreting English and technical directions.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code and PPE policies.
- Ability to maintain performance under pressure and maintain stability.
