Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee

Overview

Safelite is an auto glass company that trains Technicians through a comprehensive apprenticeship. A Technician Trainee will learn tools, safety systems, and customer service to become a Safelite Certified Technician upon graduation.

• Be paid and apprentice the Safelite way through hands‑on and classroom training.
• Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshoot, and complete diagnostic testing.
• Provide additional services and products.
• Study and pass testing to become a Safelite‑certified Technician, demonstrating proficiency in installations and techniques.
• Safely operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools, and chemicals used throughout the workday.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

• Competitive weekly pay starting at $25.50/hour, increasing to $30.25/hour after training and certification.
• Earn $5 per set of wiper blades sold.
• Potential for promotion within the first year based on performance metrics.

• Option to buy additional paid time off or sell unused time up to 16 hours.
• Up to $5,250 annually in tuition reimbursement.
• Paid training, tools, and resources necessary for success.

• High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (preferred).
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license (other licenses as required by law to operate a company vehicle).
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all laws and comply with vehicle‑safety camera monitoring.
• Professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work outside in various weather and temperature conditions.
• Ability to work with chemicals (including flammable chemicals) as required.
• Flexible scheduled days, adaptable start and end times.
• Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools for recalibration and troubleshooting.
• Problem‑solving and independent collaboration skills.
• Reading, writing, and interpreting English and technical directions.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code and PPE policies.
• Ability to maintain performance under pressure and maintain stability.
