HVAC & Refrigeration Instructor
The successful candidate will provide instruction to (11th grade) high school juniors in the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) program at NCTEC in Sanborn, NY. This is a.5 FTE part time position with growth potential to become a full 1.0 FTE by the second year. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, and delivering instruction on mechanical systems within the HVAC curriculum. Topics include:
Residential heating and cooling, commercial and domestic refrigeration fundamentals, air distribution systems, electricity and control circuits, Req gas and oil burners, refrigerant management and recycling, boilers, transformers, and motors, installation and servicing of gas, oil, electric, and hydronic heating systems, residential and light commercial air conditioning, humidification and dehumidification, servicing refrigerators and freezers, HVAC system design, heat loss, and heat gain.
Candidates must have experience with wireless/Wi-Fi controls, residential and commercial service, and hold EPA Section 608 certification. Teaching Math, Science, and English are also required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience in HVAC sales and business operations are preferred. Applicants must hold or be eligible for New York State teacher certification. Regular attendance and dependability are essential. Additional duties may be assigned, and the assignment is subject to change.
Anticipated school year: PM at Niagara Career and Technical Education Center (Sanborn, NY) juniors (HVAC curriculum). Anticipated Salary: $54,000-$92,000 prorated to .5 FTE, commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits package.
